About Reiki:
Japanese Kanji Symbol for Reiki Dr. Mikao Usui
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese word meaning Universal Life Force Energy - a vital force which permeates all living
things. Rei, meaning universal and ki, meaning life energy/life force (same as Chi in Chinese). It is a gentle and powerful sys-
tem of natural healing that acts as a Japanese form of stress reduction and relaxation with many healing benefits. Reiki is that
primal energy which emanates continuously from the single source of universal power and existence. Reiki originated in Tibet
thousands of years ago where Tibetan monks had mastered the science or art of tapping the Universal Life Force Energy, for
man's use in healing and self-transformation, to eventually lead to spiritual enlightenment. It was taught to a selected and
disciplined few. Reiki was rediscovered in the mid to late 1800's by Dr. Mikao Usui, a Japanese monk, theological scholar, and
teacher, who found a way to connect to the Reiki healing energy through his studies and practices. He spent the latter part of
his life using and teaching his wonderful knowledge. The Usui System of Natural Healing, which Reiki is also referred to as, is
named after Usui. Reiki reached the western world through Mrs. Hawayo Takata, the first woman to receive Master training,
and Reiki continues to be practiced and passed down to Reiki Masters worldwide.
Reiki works in harmony to improve the effectiveness and benefits of all other types of therapy, treatment, and healing modal-
ities. It helps to stimulate the body's own natural healing abilities. It is a spiritually guided life energy with Rei, as the Universal
Consciousness, guiding the life energy, ki, through its own wisdom. Reiki flows automatically and knows just where to go and
what to do, communicating with the person's Higher Self to align it. Since it is guided by Universal Consciousness, it is always
helpful and can never do harm. The practitioner is there to help transmit the flow of Reiki, but they are not the one doing the
healing. One does not have to believe in it or not, to receive the benefits. It can only enhance an individual's spiritual and/or
religious experience. Therefore there is no need to change your present belief system, as Reiki is not a religion.
How Reiki Works:
Life energy (ki) is what flows through all of us and all around us. Ki is influenced by the thoughts we think with our minds and
the feelings we feel as a result. These mental and emotional bodies of energy, directly affect the state of our physical body and
what we experience as the state of our health, through it. Ki, in it's natural state, flows freely through our chakras and meridi-
ans, and around us in our field of energy (auras). This balanced state of freely flowing ki creates health. When there are dis-
ruptions in the flow, caused by negative thoughts lodging themselves to the subconscious mind, attaching also to the energy
field, and anywhere else throughout the body that becomes a resting ground for the build up, blocks are created and ki stops
flowing as it should. This is when illnesses and pains can develop, as a result of blockage lodged in places like the organs and
tissues. Dis-ease, pains, and diminishing health develops unless ki is supported in its flow. The Reiki energy works with the
blocks, opening up the chakras and meridians, to help return the natural flow and ultimately, to return the body back to its ori-
ginal state of health. By raising the vibrational level, in and around the physical body, the trapped energy can begin dislodging
and gently fall away, returning one to peace, which is our natural state of being. This energy interacts with the body’s own
energy fields, bringing balance to the five bodies (physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and etheric), which allows the healing
process to begin.
Reiki is a vibrational energy technique that balances, harmonizes, and restores our energy systems by using the energy cen-
ters in the palms of the hands. The hands are placed gently in different positions on, or over, (several inches above) the body.
Reiki can also be administered from a distance, which creates the same results. Treatments are normally an hour and psycho-
logically, this 1 hour Reiki treatment is equivalent to about 4 hours of sleep, which makes Reiki a very effective stress reliever.
Reiki treatments can help alleviate the roots of ill-health and stimulate a great feeling of general well-being, as well as being
great for a general tune-up or tonic in times of "normal" health.
Reiki may be used for both self-help and to support others. It is a very powerful aid to personal growth, as it works on a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual level. The energy is drawn through (not from) the practitioner's body, ensuring that their own energy is not depleted, which results in a feeling of rebalance and enhancement by the energies flowing through them.
Reiki is like luminous energy that expresses from the Universal Heart, as one consciously reconnects and harmonizes the frag-
mented self with Universal Oneness.

Things One Might Experience During A Reiki Treatment:
Usually, a person feels a pleasant, warm heat on the area that is being treated, and/or any other areas that the Reiki energy
is drawn to. This deeply warming relaxation is part of the releasing of energy blockages within the body and can also manifest
in several other types of experiences such as coughing, rumbling or gurgling in the stomach, rushes of energy in the body, ting-
ling, a sense of peace, which can even promote one to fall asleep, etc.....These are all great indications that the treatment is
working and should not cause any concern. Some people may feel nothing during a treatment, as well, but this is not an indica-
tion that the Reiki has not worked. Reiki works whether we are conscious of it or not. We are all unique and therefore we ex-

"I am 45 years old and a smoker since many years and I tried many times to give it up or to reduce it. But all of this didn’t work for a long time. I am an IT-Professional and when I got stress in my job, I smoked more and more and all this was forgotten. My health is in very good condition because I do sports, but I wanted no longer to smoke, although I smoked gladly. It is not necessary that a client be physically present for a session. Reiki allows for the practitioner to be able to facilitate treatments at a distance. Both full sessions and healing attunements can be administered even if one lives in a different city, state, or country, or simply is unable to attend in person. The person responds the same way and the result is no different. A day and time will be set prior to the treatment so the client can be present with the energy they are receiving and find a peaceful space and time for doing so.
Each in-person session is accompanied by beautiful, supportive, background music, candlelight, and incense or aroma oil scents. Again, all of these are choices I provide to the client before the session begins. The emphasis is on a nurturing, therapeutic experience that is a fusion of flow and intuition along with quality, effective care.
1 Hour Reiki Session: $85
A Reiki Healing Attunement helps to remove blocks and promote growth and healing for any specific concern or issue one is facing and would like support with. It also aids in goal achievement, by helping you to move past existing, resistive blocks and limiting patterns. In a Healing Attunement, the Higher Self is allowed more of an "active" role in the process of achieving goals.
Reiki & Crystal Energy Work:
Reiki combined with Crystal Energy Work is available for those interested. Working with Crystal Energy can sometimes be a more intense process, depending on the individual. I support people in actively taking part in deciding what would be best for them. I like to discuss all options so that we can make a decision together that best supports the individual's healing process and intentions.
